GYAN BRARD, M.D., F.A.C.E.
Doctor Brard was born in Seattle, Washington and spent most
of his youth in California. He has been
in private practice in Mesa since September 1997. While in practice, he has emphasized learning
about insulin pumps. He prefers to
download insulin pumps as part of routine follow-up on patients who have
them. He started working with electronic
medical records in 2000 and developed his own database application which has
since been replaced by the commercial product the office currently uses.
If you asked why he became a doctor, he would tell you that he became a doctor to make patients’ lives better and will do just that if he possibly can. For diabetic patients that might mean helping them take control of their lives, prescribing new medication or technology, or just being a stable part of an overall regimen of self-care. For patients with thyroid and other hormonal conditions it might mean understanding complicated test results or unusual conditions. “The numerous demands of the current healthcare environment can depersonalize the practice of medicine. I try to find some way to connect with each patient on a personal level.”
